OPD Fitness
Most chronic pain is caused, or aggravated by poor posture and misalignment. These misalignments are encouraged by long days of sitting at a desk or in a patrol car. Clinical sports massage is an effective way to use bodywork for the treatment of shoulder, neck, back, hip, knee, elbow, and foot pain. Sciatica, Shoulder Impingement Syndrome, IT Band Syndrome, Plantar Fasciitis, all are issues we can help by addressing postural concerns through massage and corresponding corrective exercises. $60 for a 1-hour session $35 for a 1/2-hour session
As part of the OPD fitness program, Competitive Edge Fitness provides online exercise programs at no charge to the officers, posted on this website. We are also happy to design specialized programs for individual officers, and to offer fun, group fitness classes. Ogden City's Wellness Program will help pay for these options!
OPD Tactical Strength Program
This pre-designed program is designed to do at the station or any other gym. Tactical Strength and Conditioning includes progressively trains strength, speed, power, agility, PT test prep, and everything you need to improve durability and excel at the physical demands of your job as a police officer.
Tactical Strength WOD
This daily workout is designed to meet the demands of the tactical athlete (law enforcement, military, firefighters, etc). Tactical Strength and Conditioning includes strength, speed, power, agility, PT test prep, and everything you need to excel at the physical demands of your job as a police officer. Workout is posted daily on the whiteboard at Competitive Edge Fitness.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
As a member of OPD, we encourage you to join us for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based grappling classes at the station every Monday and Thursday at 4pm. During these classes we review techniques we have learned in the OPD Defensive Tactics classes, address questions about specific scenarios, and place a monthly focus on different aspects and principles of Jiu-Jitsu. During July 2024 we will be focusing on positional control and the principle of connection.
